Richfield leads with Juab in 2nd after Day 1 at the 3A Boys Golf State Tournament

STANSBURY PARK, Utah-The Richfield Wildcats had a strong showing on day 1 of the 3A Boys Golf State Tournament to take the lead going into day 2 after shooting 1-over par as a team Wednesday.

Juab sits in second place after day 1, just six strokes behind Richfield at +7. Morgan comes in third at +13, followed by Union at +17 and Carbon rounds out the top five at +25. Delta is in eighth place at +37 with North Sanpete in ninth at +45 and Manti finished day 1 in 14th place at +69.

Individually there is a three-way tie for first place as two Richfield teammates Max Albrecht and Jorgen Southwick each shot a 3-under par along with Juab’s Denver Douglas. Braigen McConnell of Richfield and Crue Cowan of Juab are tied for fourth at even par to round out the top five.

Day 2 and the final day of the state tournament is today at Stansbury Park Golf Course.
