(Salt Lake City, UT) — Salt Lake City is reportedly the frontrunner among western cities to score an expansion baseball team. USA Today says the pair of MLB expansion teams are likely to land in Nashville and Salt Lake City. The expansion teams will probably be awarded by 2029. Other cities in the West that are trying to land a team include Sacramento, Portland and Vancouver.
