South Sevier Wins First Boys Golf State Title

CEDAR CITY, Utah-The South Sevier Rams won their first ever boys golf state championship Wednesday at Cedar Ridge Golf Course by shooting a two-day combined score of 638. The Rams beat second place Beaver by 27 strokes as the Beavers shot a combined score of 665. Parowan came in third, followed by Rowland Hall and Waterford rounded out the top five. Kanab finished seventh and Millard came in ninth.

Individually, South Sevier’s Gunner Sorensen finished as the state champion after beating Parowan’s Tyler Massey in a two-hole playoff. Sorensen and Massey each shot a 153. Beaver’s Kavin Oakden came in third with a 154, followed by a tie for fourth between McKay Pace of Parowan and Hudson Darmstandler of Rowland Hall who each shot a 155. South Sevier’s Keegan Johnson tied for 8th and Kanab’s Ray Capson and Millard’s Kyle Cummings tied for 10th.
