JUNCTION, Utah-Brodee Montague homered and the Piute Thunderbirds pounded Pinnacle 25-1 Wednesday in 1A South baseball play. Montague netted seven strikeouts in 3.2 innings of work to earn the win on the mound for Piute. Domonick Hiutt drove in a run in the loss for the Panthers.

GREEN RIVER, Utah-Antonio Moreno drove in four runs and the Bryce Valley Mustangs pounded Green River 12-0 in 1A South baseball play Wednesday. Gerardo Lopez netted a strikeout in one inning of work to earn the win on the mound for the Mustangs.

PANGUITCH, Utah-Casey Walter and Hudson Burningham each drove in a run and the Panguitch Bobcats blanked Valley 2-0 Wednesday in 1A South baseball play. Quade Veater netted nine strikeouts in seven innings of work to earn the win on the mound for the Bobcats.

ESCALANTE, Utah-The Valley Buffalos blanked Escalante 3-0 Wednesday in Region 20 girls volleyball play. The Buffalos bested the Moquis 25-17, 25-19, 25-10 to prevail in straight sets. Taylie Carlisle’s 4 kills led the Moquis in the loss.
