Boys Basketball

1-A Preview

RICHFIELD, Utah-Braige Jacobson netted 12 points and 5 rebounds as the Wayne Badgers downed the Rich Rebels 51-37 Friday in the nightcap of Day 1 of the 1-A preview at the Sevier Valley Center. Tyrel Brian added 12 points on 4-7 from the field in the win for the Badgers, who improved to 1-4. Riley Taylor posted 11 points and 7 rebounds on 4-4 from the field in defeat for the Rebels, dropping them to 0-2.

RICHFIELD, Utah-Quade Gleave posted 13 points and 9 rebounds and Kelby Jessen added 12 points and 9 boards as the Piute Thunderbirds overpowered Tabiona 44-28 Friday during the 1-A preview at the Sevier Valley Center Piute improved to 4-2 with the win. Kade Stewart had 8 points and 6 rebounds in the loss for the Tigers.

RICHFIELD, Utah-The Panguitch Bobcats improved to 4-2 on the season with a 51-36 rout of Whitehorse Friday at the Sevier Valley Center during the 1-A preview.

RICHFIELD, Utah-Jaime Montalvo posted 23 points and the Wendover Wildcats bested Bryce Valley 74-65 Friday at the 1-A preview at the Sevier Valley Center. Peter Alvarez added 19 points, 8 assists and 6 rebounds for the Wildcats, who improved to 4-1 with the win. Treyson Roberts netted 20 points and 13 rebounds in the loss for the Mustangs, who fell to 2-3 with the loss.

RICHFIELD, Utah-Rising star center Braden Heaton amassed 16 points, 4 rebounds and 3 blocked shots as the Valley Buffaloes downed Manila 49-36 at the Sevier Valley Center during the 1-A preview Friday. Gavin Hoyt added 12 points and 7 rebounds on 5-9 from the field for the Buffaloes and Conner Chamberlain netted 11 points, 7 assists and 5 rebounds on 3-6 from the field for Valley, as the Buffaloes shot 54.3 percent from the field in improving to 5-1 on the season. Jordan Lucio had 15 points and 8 rebounds in the loss for the Mustangs, as they fell to 3-1 on the season.

RICHFIELD, Utah-Caleb Koski amassed 39 points and 10 rebounds on 16-23 from the field as the Intermountain Christian Lions shellacked Milford 80-38 Friday at the Sevier Valley Center during the 1-A preview. Brayden Stoddard added 22 points and 6 rebounds on 8-14 from the field for the Lions, who shot 54.4 percent from the field for the game. Intermountain Christian improved to 6-2 on the season with the win. Zach Sherwood netted 13 points in the loss for the Tigers, as they fell to 1-3 with the loss. Milford next draws Telos Saturday at 6:00 pm.

Bulldog Invitational

MESQUITE, Nev.-Nathaniel “Hoss” Houston led the way with 17 points and the Kanab Cowboys bested the Lincoln County (Nev.) Lynx 63-48 Friday at the Bulldog Invitational at Virgin Valley High School.

Region 14

LINDON, Utah-Conner Christiansen’s 16 points led the way and the Manti Templars dismantled Maeser Prep 81-43 Friday in Region 14 boys basketball action. Hugh Jackson had 14 points for the Lions in the loss.

Non-Region

PAROWAN, Utah-Shaydon Benson netted 21 points and 5 rebounds and Max Topham added 20 points and 7 boards as the Parowan Rams downed Gunnison Valley 66-52 Friday in non-region boys basketball action. Creed Mogle’s 19 points led the Bulldogs in defeat.

KAMAS, Utah-Ky Brown stepped up with 26 points and the Beaver Beavers bested South Summit 62-47 in non-region boys basketball action Friday. Payton Sanderson had 12 points in the loss for the Wildcats.

PRICE, Utah-Derek Smith netted 23 points as the Delta Rabbits gashed Carbon 48-27 Friday in non-region boys basketball action. Brady Gagon’s 13 points led the Dinos in the loss.

CASTLE DALE, Utah-Brax Jensen posted 22 points and the Emery Spartans routed Juab 74-50 in non-region boys basketball action Friday. Jake  Bailey led the Wasps in defeat with 12 points.

RICHFIELD, Utah-Josh Thalman amassed 25 points and the Richfield Wildcats pounded North Sanpete 58-36 Friday in non-region boys basketball action. Trevin Morley had 13 points for the Hawks in the loss.

FILLMORE, Utah-Sam Marshall posted 12 points and 9 rebounds as the Millard Eagles humbled Providence Hall 45-38 in non-region boys basketball action Friday. Aaron Thueson had 10 points in defeat for the Patriots.

SPANISH FORK, Utah-Brandt Williams netted 14 points as the South Sevier Rams edged Amerian Leadership 40-38 Friday in non-region boys basketball action. Norman Rentschler led the Eagles in the loss with 13 points.

MT. PLEASANT, Utah-The Wasatch Academy Tigers overpowered Springville 80-70 Friday in non-region boys basketball action.

Girls Basketball

Buffalo Shootout

ORDERVILLE, Utah-Paige Harris led the way with 11 points and the Valley Buffaloes waxed Parowan 45-33 at the Buffalo Shootout Friday at Valley High School.

Delta Tournament

DELTA, Utah-Jordyn Nielson netted 9 points and the Delta Rabbits edged Tooele 31-30 at the Delta Tournament Friday at the Palladium. Breanna Ber had 13 points in the loss for the Buffaloes.

Virgin Valley Tournament

MESQUITE, Nev.-Kanab routed host Virgin Valley 56-32 Friday at Virgin Valley High School at the Virgin Valley Tournament.

Non-Region

SPANISH FORK, Utah-Kenley Nelson netted 12 points and 11 rebounds as the Maple Mountain Golden Eagles soared past Juab 42-31 in non-region girls basketball action Friday. Brynlee Bender and Megan Robins had 8 points apiece in the loss for the Wasps.

ST. GEORGE, Utah-Tylei Jensen posted 16 points and the Snow Canyon Warriors got past Richfield 37-31 Friday in non-region girls basketball action. Jarica Steck led the Wildcats in defeat with 12 points.

SALINA, Utah-Nataly Dunka stepped up with 24 points and the Wasatch Academy Tigers humbled North Sevier 40-37 in non-region girls basketball action Friday. Macady Goble led the Wolves with 11 points in the loss.
