Isaac Rex/Cole Fotheringham, On Mackey Watch List

NEW YORK-Friday, BYU freshman tight end Isaac Rex and Utah junior tight end Cole Fotheringham were named to the Mackey Award Watch List.

This award is annually given to the most outstanding tight end in the country.

Last season, the 6-6 247-pound Rex tied Florida junior Kyle Pitts for the most receiving touchdowns in the country for a tight end with 12 scoring grabs.

Rex also led all freshman tight ends in the nation with 37 grabs for 429 yards to go with his 12 touchdown receptions.

Rex earned 2020 All-American honors from college football guru Phil Steele and The Athletic.

Rex is the son of former BYU star tight end Byron Rex who posted 45 catches for 612 yards and five touchdowns in 1992 for the Cougars, earning All-American status.

Fotheringham is a junior and has 37 career receptions for 398 yards and three scores for the Utes.
