SALT LAKE CITY-Thursday, the University of Utah men’s basketball team confirmed the return of guard Both Gach to the program.
Gach, a 6-6 185-pound junior out of Austin, Minn., played for the Utes from 2018-2020 before transferring to Minnesota for the 2020-21 season.
Gach confirmed his news Thursday on his Twitter account.

In his two seasons with the Utes, Gach has averaged 9.2 points and 2.9 rebounds per game.
Gach is the Utes’ sixth transfer under new head coach Craig Smith. Others include guard Rollie Worster (Utah State), guard Marco Anthony (Utah State), forward Bostyn Holt (Coffeyville C.C. [Kan.]), shooting guard David Jenkins (UNLV) and forward Gabe Madsen (Cincinnati).
Gach also has a previous relationship with Smith and considered Utah State until Smith left Logan to take the Utes’ job, per statements Gach made Thursday.
