BYU Math Professor Get Probation For Child Sex Crime

(Springville, UT) — A BYU math professor is getting three years probation for sending sexual images to someone who he thought was a minor. As part of a plea deal, Stephen Henry McKean pleaded guilty to distributing harmful materials to a minor and one count of enticing a minor. He was caught in a sting operation where he thought he was communicating with a 17-year-old girl. Instead, he was messaging criminal investigators with Box Elder County and the state of Utah.
