SALT LAKE CITY-The Utah Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association, per a Wednesday report, has recently announced its final standings for the UIAAA Directors Cup.
Among the victors are two Mid-Utah Radio Sports Network schools with Richfield earning the title in 3-A and Piute in 1-A.
Richfield posted 117.8 points. Manti placed second with 109.2 points. Delta finished third with 98.5 points. Carbon placed fourth with 96.1 points. Juab finished fifth with 95.1 points.
In 1-A, the Thunderbirds took the title with 130.4 points. Valley placed second with 122.2 points. Milford finished third with 120.2 points. Panguitch placed fourth with 118.9 points and Bryce Valley placed fifth with 88.2 points.
In 2-A, North Summit took the title. The Braves amassed 113.7 points. Rowland Hall finished second with 109.3 points. Millard finished third with 99.9 points. Kanab placed fourth with 99.1 points. Gunnison Valley placed fifth with 97 points.
The 6-A champion was Corner Canyon as the Chargers posted 120.8 points. In 5-A, Mountain View took the title with the Bruins netting 95.6 points. In 4-A, the Green Canyon Wolves earned the crown by posting 111.1 points.
The Directors Cup award honors schools predicated upon how schools finish in all boys and girls state tournaments. Points are awarded to the top 16 finishers in all sports. These results account for 40 percent of the team total. The remainder of the standings are determined by GPA and sportsmanship.
