MT. PLEASANT, Utah-Wyatt Payton drove in four runs and the Juab Wasps bested North Sanpete 13-6 in the first game of a Region 14 baseball doubleheader Friday. Kanyon Matinson earned the win on the mound for the Wasps, posting three strikeouts in two innings of work. Andy Bailey drove in two runs in the loss for the Hawks.
MT. PLEASANT, Utah-Porter Bowles, Wyatt Payton and Cooper Ford each drove in a run and the Juab Wasps completed a Region 14 baseball doubleheader sweep of North Sanpete Friday with a 7-3 victory. Bowles earned the win on the mound for the Wasps, posting nine strikeouts in six innings of work.
Non-Region
HURRICANE, Utah-Reggie Frischknecht drove in three runs and the Manti Templars upset Class 4A Hurricane 13-10 Friday in non-region baseball play. Kayson Bailey posted five strikeouts in 3.2 innings of work to secure the win on the mound for the Templars. Grant Scholzen drove in three runs for the Tigers in the loss.
Softball
Region 14
NEPHI, Utah-Tiffany Hermansen drove in three runs and the Manti Templars routed Juab 14-5 Friday in Region 14 softball play. Ashley Rasmussen posted nine strikeouts in 4.2 innings of work to earn the win in the circle for the Templars.
Non-Region
SPANISH FORK, Utah-Heather Howarth drove in four runs and the North Sanpete Hawks hammered Maple Mountain 14-3 Friday in non-region softball play. Howarth earned the win in the circle for the Hawks, posting two strikeouts in six innings of work.
Boys Soccer
Region 14
MT. PLEASANT, Utah-Ryker Richards scored twice and the Juab Wasps blanked North Sanpete 4-0 Friday in Region 14 boys soccer play. Damian Reyes and Jake Peterson also scored in victory for the Wasps. Wyatt Cunningham earned the shutout for the Wasps.
Non-Region
CEDAR CITY, Utah-Brock Belnap scored and the Canyon View Falcons outlasted Manti 2-1 on penalty kicks in extra time Friday in non-region boys soccer play.
