(Salt Lake City, UT) — A former Republican congressman is returning to his old stomping grounds in the state legislature. Rob Bishop was one of the three new members sworn in on Tuesday. Bishop served in the state House from 1978 to 1994, spending two years as House Speaker. He won a special election last month to fill the District Six House seat that came open when Matthew Gwynn stepped down. The 74-year-old plans to run for the seat again in November.
