GUNNISON, Utah-Jaxon Allen made a 3-pointer in the closing seconds and the Gunnison Valley Bulldogs got past Piute 51-50 in non-region boys basketball play Wednesday. Tyson Tucker’s 17 points and 13 rebounds led the Bulldogs on the evening as they improved to 2-0 on the season. Jaxon Westwood (19 points, 6 rebounds) made the go-ahead bucket seconds before Allen’s heroics and was the Thunderbirds’ leading scorer on the evening. Piute fell to 1-1 in the loss.

The Bulldogs next visit Class 4A Uintah Thursday evening in a swift turnaround.

Friday, Piute returns to action by visiting the Tintic Miners.

KANAB, Utah-Justin Osburn’s 21 points led the way and the Panguitch Bobcats bested Kanab 60-55 Wednesday in non-region boys basketball play. Cash Mortensen led the Cowboys in defeat with 19 points.

SALINA, Utah-Brody Bulloch led the way with 10 points and the North Sevier Wolves downed Wayne 45-40 Wednesday in non-region boys basketball play. Jake Batty’s 14 points led the Badgers in the loss. .

BEAVER, Utah-The Beaver Beavers downed Bryce Valley 52-40 Wednesday in non-region boys basketball play.

PRICE, Utah-Mackson Bastian recorded 14 points, 12 rebounds and 6 steals as the South Sevier Rams bested Carbon 47-41 in non-region boys basketball play Wednesday. Kahner Raby led the way with 12 points and 10 rebounds in the loss for the Dinos.

PAROWAN, Utah-Bodie Cox and Johnny Cox had 18 points apiece and the Valley Buffalos tripped up Parowan 56-43 Wednesday in non-region boys basketball play. Hunter Bettridge led the Rams in the loss with 17 points.

ST. GEORGE, Utah-The Class 4A Pine View Panthers waxed Richfield 62-50 in non-region boys basketball play Wednesday.

DELTA, Utah-Cai Henderson posted 23 points and the Delta Rabbits pounded Millard 77-39 Wednesday in non-region boys basketball play at the Palladium. Noah Rowell led the Eagles in the loss with 12 points.

EUREKA, Utah-Luke Larsen led the way with 22 points and the Tintic Miners bested Milford 66-53 in non-region boys basketball play Wednesday. Colton Barnes recorded 20 points in defeat for the Tigers.

Region 20

JUNCTION, Utah-Kaycee Gleave posted 11 points and the Piute Thunderbirds pounded Valley 50-29 Wednesday in Region 20 girls basketball action. Kimber Reeve led the Buffalos in the loss with 15 points.

EUREKA, Utah-The Mliford Tigers hammered Tintic 52-30 Wednesday in non-region girls basketball play.
