Whittni Orton, Anna Camp, Kate Sorensen, All Advance To NCAA Championship Meet

COLLEGE STATION, Texas-This past week at the NCAA West Track & Field Regionals in College Station, Texas, three former Mid-Utah Radio Sports Network student-athletes advanced to the NCAA National Championship Track & Field meet at Hayward Field of Eugene, Ore. June 9-12.

Former Panguitch High School multi-sport star Whittni Orton, now a star senior distance runner at BYU, is the West’s No. 3 seed in the women’s 5000-meter run as she posted a time of 15:58.32. Stanford junior Julia Heymach is the No. 1 seed headed to Eugene in the West in the event as she posted a time of 15:55.72.

Orton also qualified for the national championship meet in the women’s 1500-meter run and will be the West’s No.3 seed in the event in a time of 4:10.18. Heymach is again the No. 1 seed in the West in this event as she posted a time of 4:09.89

Orton’s teammate, former Millard High School track star Anna Camp, is also having a successful season for the Cougars.

Camp is the West’s No. 9 seed in the women’s 1500-meter run, posting a time of 4:13.38.

Camp also qualified in the women’s 800-meter run. In this event, Camp is the West’s No. 6 seed, posting a time of 2:04.79.

The No. 1 seed in the West in this event is Baylor junior Aaliyah Miller, who posted a time of 2:02.13.

Former Gunnison Valley High School star, Weber State junior Kate Sorensen, is the West’s No. 5 seed in the 400-meter hurdles, posting a time of 57.59 seconds.

The No. 1 seed in the West in this event is USC senior Anna Cockrell, who posted a time of 56.47.
