Tuesday, BYU senior point guard Alex Barcello earned National Association of Basketball Coaches first team honors in District 9 for the second consecutive season. Barcello was joined on this team by Utah Valley star sophomore redshirt center Fardaws Aimaq.
Barcello posts 17.2 points and 3.7 rebounds per game for the Cougars, who host Long Beach State Wednesday in their first round NIT game.
Aimaq posted 18.9 points and 13.5 rebounds per game for the Wolverines, whose season ended with a record of 20-12 (10-8 in WAC play).
Additionally, Weber State men’s basketball senior point guard Koby McEwen and sophomore point guard Dillon Jones received second-team All-District honors from the NABC.
McEwen posted 18.2 points and 4.2 rebounds for the Wildcats this season.
Jones stepped up for Weber State, averaging 12.6 points and 10.6 rebounds per game on the season.
The Wildcats advanced to the Big Sky Conference Tournament semifinals Friday before falling to Montana State 69-66.
Weber State concludes the season at 21-12, including a 13-7 record in conference play.
