SALT LAKE CITY-Wednesday, Utah football standouts, junior defensive end Jonah Elliss and sophomore tailback/safety Sione Vaki were named as Sporting News All-Americans.

The decorated Elliss, who was also named to The Associated Press, Football Writers Association of America, Walter Camp, USA Today, College Football Network and CBS Sports All-American Teams, achieved first-team status from the publication.

Elliss has 12 sacks and 16 tackles for a loss on the season.

Vaki achieved second-team status and has amassed 520 net yards and 5 net scores on the season while also collecting 2 sacks, 8.5 tackles for a loss, an interception and two pass breakups.

The Utes will play Northwestern at the Las Vegas Bowl December 23 at Allegiant Stadium of Paradise, Nev.
