OREM, Utah-Friday, Utah Valley’s Fardaws Aimaq was named to the NetScouts basketball All-International team for the 2020-21 season.
The redshirt sophomore earned third-team honors along with Oregon senior forward Eugene Omoruyi (Canada; 16.7 points, 5.3 rebounds per game), Syracuse sophomore forward Quincy Guerrier (Canada; 13.9 points, 8.6 rebounds per game), Mississippi State sophomore shooting guard Iverson Moilnar (Panama; 16.8 points, 3.8 rebounds per game) and Grand Canyon senior center Asbjorn Midtgaard (Denmark; 14.2 points, 9.8 rebounds per game).
Aimaq, a Canadian national out of Richmond, British Columbia, Canada, posted 13.9 points and 15 rebounds per game, leading Division I in rebounds per contest. Utah State junior Neemias Queta made the second team. The native of Barriero, Portugal posted 14.9 points and 10.1 rebounds per game, making him the only Mountain West Conference student-athlete to average a double-double this season. Queta also shot 55.9 percent from the field for the season.
