Utah State Football Hosts Wyoming Saturday

LOGAN, Utah-Saturday afternoon, Utah State (5-4, 4-1 in Mountain West Conference play) hosts Wyoming (6-3, 3-2 in Mountain West) to ensue in the Mountain West Conference season for both squads.

The Aggies are currently 34-19 (.641) all-time against the Mountain West Conference as a league member (2011-present).

In his overall fifth season of coaching the Aggies, Gary Andersen is 31-28 (.525).

Utah State’s offense ranks 72nd nationally in scoring (28.2 points per game) as they are tied with Missouri.

Junior quarterback Jordan Love completes 61.9 percent of his passes (206-334) for 2,402 yards, 11 touchdowns and 12 interceptions for the Aggies on the season.

Senior tailback Gerold Bright (115 car, 614 yards, 6 TD’s) and junior running mate Jaylen Warren (78 car, 444 yards, 5 TD’s) have bolstered Utah State’s running attack.

Graduate student receiver Siaosi Mariner (45 rec, 630 yards, 6 TD’s) and junior wide-out Jordan Nathan (32 rec, 409 yards, TD) are the Aggies’ leading receivers.

Senior kicker Dominik Eberle makes 14 of his 16 field goal attempts on the season and all 30 of his PAT’s.

Junior receiver Savon Scarver has two kick returns for scores and is fifth nationally with 31.6 yards per kickoff return.

The Aggies are ranked 67th nationally in scoring defense (27.3 points per game) with BYU.

Junior defensive end Nick Heninger leads the Aggies in sacks (3) and junior safety Shaq Bond leads the squad in interceptions with two.

Wyoming comes into Saturday’s game on the heels of a heart-breaking 20-17 overtime loss to Boise State last weekend.

In his sixth season at Laramie, Wyo., head coach Craig Bohl is 34-38 (.472) at the helm of the Cowboys’ program.

The Cowboys rank 77th nationally in scoring offense (27.3 points per game).

Redshirt freshman signal-caller Sean Chambers and sophomore quarterback Tyler Vander Waal have each seen considerable playing-time with neither able to complete 50 percent of their passes thus far.

Chambers has thrown for 915 yards, 7 touchdowns and 3 interceptions and has also run for 567 yards and 10 scores.

The running offense for the Cowboys nets 227 yards per game, ranking them 15th nationally.

Sophomore tailback Xazavian Valladay (155 car, 771 yards, 5 TD’s) is Wyoming’s leading tailback.

Freshman back Titus Swen (67 car, 349 yards, TD) has also been solid for the Cowboys when called upon.

Senior receiver Raghib Ismail Jr. (14 rec, 240 yards, 2 TD’s) is the Cowboys’ leading receiver.

Senior kicker Cooper Rothe has made 11 of his 17 field goal attempts on the season and 27 of his 30 PAT attempts for Wyoming.

The Cowboys’ defense is among the better units in the country. Wyoming ranks 14th nationally in scoring defense (17.9 points per game) and 19th in sacks (28).

Among Wyoming’s defensive stars are redshirt freshman defensive end Solomon Byrd (6.5 sacks, 2 forced fumbles) and senior linebackers Logan Wilson and Cassh Maluia (2 interceptions apiece).

The Aggies lead the all-time series against the Cowboys 39-26-4 and 25-11-1 at Logan.
