SALT LAKE CITY-Monday, University of Utah junior linebacker Devin Lloyd was named the Reese’s Senior Bowl Defensive Player of the Week.

Lloyd played a key role in the Utes’ 24-13 win over Washington State, their first win of the Pac-12 season, Saturday.

The native of Chula Vista, Calif. posted eight tackles, a season-high 3 tackles for a loss, a sack and an interception.

The preseason All-American leads the Pac-12 with eight tackles for a loss on the season. This also ranks him third nationally.

Lloyd’s interception was his second of the season and the third in his career. Lloyd’s 45 net tackles and 11.3 stops per game rank him first in the Pac-12 in each category.

The Utes return to action October 9 by visiting USC to continue their Pac-12 season.
