USU Football’s Deven Thompkins Named To Hornung Award Honor Roll

LOGAN, Utah-Tuesday, Utah State receiver Deven Thompkins was named to the Paul Hornung Award Honor Roll by virtue of his performance in the Aggies’ 29-26 win over Washington State last Saturday evening at Pullman, Wash.

The 5-8 155-pound senior out of Fort Myers, Fla. caught the game-winning touchdown pass for the Aggies in the closing seconds to upset the Cougars.

Thompkins has also earned America First Credit Union USU Student-Athlete of the Week and College Sports Madness Mountain West Offensive Player of the week honors this week.

Along with his game-winning touchdown reception, Thompkins secured eight receptions for a career-high 94 yards on the evening.

Thompkins led the Aggies with a game-high 116 all-purpose yards.

Thompkins and his USU teammates are back in action Friday as they host the North Dakota Fighting Hawks in their home opener at Logan.
