SALT LAKE CITY-Wednesday, the University of Utah men’s basketball squad announced its season opener.
The Utes will host Sacramento State November 13 at the Huntsman Center.
The game time will be revealed at a future date.
This will be the third all-time meeting between the Utes and Hornets with the series tied 1-1.
Utah prevailed over Sacramento State 74-45 December 12, 1992 and the Hornets returned the favor with a 74-71 win November 16, 2012.
Both games occurred at the Huntsman Center.
New Utes head coach Craig Smith (153-79, .659 at South Dakota and Utah State) is 2-0 all-time in his career against Sacramento State.
The Hornets are coached by 14th year head coach Brian Katz (150-232., 393 at Sacramento State) and are coming off of an 8-12 campaign in the 2020-21 season.
