Three Utah Collegians Named To Paul Hornung Watch List

LOUISVILLE, Ky.-Thursday, three Utah-based college football standouts were named to the Paul Hornung Watch List.

This award is annually given to the most versatile player in college football by the Louisville Sports Commission and is named in honor of College Football Hall of Fame (Class of 1985) and Pro Football Hall of Fame (Class of 1986) member Paul Hornung, a Louisville native.

They include BYU junior tailback Lopini Katoa, Utah junior receiver Britain Covey and Utah State junior receiver Deven Thompkins.

Katoa has 1,183 career scrimmage yards for the Cougars (781 rushing yards, 12 touchdowns; 402 receiving yards, two scores).

Covey has 1,431 career scrimmage yards for the Utes (1,233 receiving yards, five scores; 1,431 scrimmage yards; 901 combined kick/punt return yards) and has also thrown two touchdown passes and completed all three of his pass attempts for the Utes throughout his career.

Thompkins has 49 career receptions for 601 yards (12.3 yards per grab) and four scores for the Aggies. He has also run for 107 yards on eight carries (13.4 yards per rush) and a score.
