CEDAR CITY, Utah-In news from Tuesday, Southern Utah University men’s basketball star guard John Knight III withdrew his name from the NBA Draft.

Knight, who shot 57 percent from the field last season for the T-Birds, while posting 14.4 points, 4.4 assists and 4.2 rebounds per game in 2020-21, confirmed he will return to SUU for the upcoming season.

The native of Jackson, Miss. also played a team-best 31.7 minutes per game for the T-Birds who are coming off of a 20-4 season. This resulted in a Big Sky Conference regular season championship for head coach Todd Simon’s squad.
