WEST PLAINS, Mo.-Friday, Snow College women’s volleyball swept Tyler (Texas) 3-0 in the NJCAA women’s volleyball national championship tournament semifinals at West Plains, Mo.
This ensures the Badgers of playing for their first national championship in women’s volleyball in program history. They will face Western Iowa as the Reivers upset No. 1 Miami-Dade 3-0 Friday in te other semifinal.
The Badgers prevailed 25-17, 25-20 and 25-18, vanquishing the Apaches in straight sets.
Sophomore Lydia Montague amassed a match-high 16 kills on 24 attempts with just one error. Fellow sophomore Bridgett Talia netted nine kills and freshman Kjersti Strong stepped up with nine kills.
Defensively, the stingy Badgers limited Tyler to an .082 hitting percentage, including a -.057 in the opening set.
