Per news published Tuesday and released Monday, Snow College sophomore pitcher Avery Thorkelson was named as the Scenic West Athletic Conference’s Pitcher of the Week.

In the Badgers’ series win over North Idaho last week, Thorkelson, a former Snow Canyon High School star out of St. George, Utah posted three strikeouts and limited Cardinals batters to a batting average of .213.

Thorkelson is 4-5 in 17 games this season and leads the team with a 5.77 ERA.

Thorkelson and her Snow teammates return to action Friday and Saturday for a 4-game series at Southern Idaho as the SWAC season ensues for both squads.
