EPHRAIM, Utah-Saturday evening, No. 2 Snow College commenced its season successfully with an 85-0 rout of the Gordon’s (Okla.) Panthers at Stoddard Field at Terry Foote Stadium.
Despite fumbling inside their own 30-yard line on the first play of the game, the Badgers excelled from there.
Snow ran for 375 yards on the evening and outgained the Panthers 446-23 as Gordon’s averaged 0.4 yards per play and had -47 yards rushing.
The Badgers’ brightest stars were tailbacks Carson Manookin (16 car, 141 yards, 2 TD’s), Sione Molisi (9 car, 86 yards, 2 TD’s) and newcomer Targhee Lambson (6 car, 85 yards, TD).
Voshon Plaisir (4 rec, 67 yards) was the Panthers’ bright spot on the evening.
Snow also received a 95-yard interception return for a score from Kohl Hogan, while Reggie Akles returned a fumble via a strip sack 28 yards for another touchdown and Elijah Ervin fell on a muffed put in the end zone to add to the Badgers’ scoring parade.
The Badgers return to action Saturday September 11 by hosting the Gila River (Ariz.) Hawks of Maricopa County, Ariz.
