NEPHI, Utah-Alex Jackson completed 30 of 36 passes for 417 yards, 6 touchdowns and 0 interceptions as the Juab Wasps surged past Delta 45-27 Friday to celebrate a successful Homecoming in non-region play.
Payton Park (7 rec, 115 yards, 4 TD’s) was primarily Jackson’s recipient on those scoring passes. Also contributing to Juab’s passing success were Justin Stevens (2 rec, 88 yards; 54-yard scoring reception) and Ryker Richards (2 rec, 50 yards; 27-yard TD grab). Eight Wasps were recipients of Jackson’s passes on the evening.
In defeat, Josh Jackson (28 car, 254 yards, 2 TD’s) and Ryder Rogers (12 car, 121 yards, TD) were instrumental in Delta’s success as the Rabbits ran for 387 yards on the evening.
Delta quarterback Camero Skeem also threw a 69-yard scoring pass to his brother, Will Skeem, in the 3rd Quarter.
Richards nailed a 39-yard field goal as the first half expired to give Juab their first lead of the game at 9-7. However, the two squads then combined for three net touchdowns in the first 1:54 of the 3rd Quarter in game time.
All told, the squads combined for 42 net points in the 3rd Quarter as the Wasps netted 22 points in the stanza and Delta posted 20.
The Rabbits and Wasps combined for 947 yards of offense (490, Delta; 457, Juab) and 72 net points in the shootout.
Juab improved to 3-1 on the season and next visits Emery to face the Spartans next Friday. Next Friday, Delta, who fell to 1-3, hosts 1-A power Milford.
LAYTON, Utah-Kannin Boswell ran for a 2-yard score and the North Sevier Wolves outlasted Layton Christian 15-14 to improve to 4-0 on the season.
In the 4th Quarter, the Eagles’ signal-caller Zoram Petelo threw a touchdown pass to Malik Johnson and successfully completed a 2-point conversion and subsequent onside kick.
However, at their 15-yard line, the Wolves repelled the Eagles to secure the hard-earned victory.
SPANISH FORK, Utah-Tyrell Robertson threw a 60-yard touchdown pass to Blake Huff as the ALA Eagles edged South Sevier 34-33 in non-region football action Friday. In defeat, Brigham Bradshaw had scoring runs of 3 and 10 yards and Braxton Price ran for an 8-yard touchdown for the Rams. Porter Marr added a 30-yard interception return for a score in the loss for South Sevier.
MILFORD, Utah-Jace Palmer tossed five touchdown passes and the San Juan Broncos overpowered Milford 62-41 in non-region football play Friday. Bo Hardy threw four touchdown passes in the loss for the Tigers. Hardy and Sadler Barnes added scoring runs in defeat for Milford.
RICHFIELD, Utah-JJ Tafatua (86 yards) and Grant Kling (41 yards) returned interceptions for touchdowns as the Richfield Wildcats stonewalled Millard 23-6 Friday in non-region football play. Stockton Pearson added a safety for the Wildcats, whose defense scored 14 points on the night. Ethan Udy’s 44-yard touchdown run was Richfield’s only offensive score on the night in the victory. Brooks Christensen had a 4-yard touchdown run in the loss for the Eagles.
BLUFFDALE, Utah-Cobe Carter had scoring runs of 5, 40 and 45 yards while adding a 35-yard scoring reception as the Beaver Beavers edged Summit Academy 33-31 in non-region football play Friday. Kutlur Matheson added a 70-yard scoring reception for the Beavers in the win as they survived their second consecutive close call to improve to 4-0.
MT. PLEASANT, Utah-Blake Thomas had scoring runs of 1 and 2 yards and the Grantsville Cowboys blanked North Sanpete 27-0 Friday in non-region football play. Gabe Mouritsen added a 25-yard touchdown run for Grantsville with Ethan Rainer returning an interception 52 yards for another score for the Cowboys.
KANAB, Utah-Griffin Bone threw touchdown passes to Kason Janes (23 yards) and Noah McCorvey (27 yards)as the Kanab Cowboys blitzed Duchesne 27-6 in non-region football play Friday. Parker Franklin added a 2-yard touchdown run for the Cowboys and Wyatt Kennedy returned a fumble 71 yards for another Kanab score in the rout.

1-A South
GREEN RIVER, Utah-Reed Edwards had 5 RBI for the Wayne Badgers as they routed Green River 17-1 Friday in 1-A South baseball play. Jake Batty posted five strikeouts in the win for the Badgers.
HURRICANE, Utah-Ivan Spencer and Zac Burrows had a pair of RBI apiece and the Valley Buffaloes edged Diamond Ranch 4-3 in 1-A South baseball play Friday. Cooper Chamberlain and Layton Spencer had six strikeouts apiece in the win for the Buffaloes.
Volleyball
Region 20
BICKNELL, Utah-The Valley Buffaloes gashed Wayne 3-0 in non-region volleyball play Friday. The Buffaloes prevailed 25-20 25-19, 25-12 over the Badgers to secure the straight sets victory.
Non-Region
JUNCTION, Utah-The Piute Thunderbirds swept Monticello 3-0 Friday in non-region volleyball play. The T-Birds downed the Buckaroos 25-22, 27-25, 25-8 to prevail in straight sets.
