Football

3-A South

RICHFIELD, Utah-Gavin Anderson made a 30-yard field goal in the closing seconds and the Richfield Wildcats upset North Sanpete 15-14 in 3-A South football play Friday. The Wildcats received inspired play from signal-caller Reggie Hafen (14 of 20, 162 yards, 2 TD’s) to upset the Hawks, who were without six key players because of disciplinary issues.

Raisor’s field goal was set up by a blocked punt that set the Wildcats up at the North Sanpete 20, while trailing 14-12.

Kaden Chidester also came up with two key sacks, including one in the closing seconds to help seal the deal.

Grant Kling (50 yards) and Jaron Ross (11 yards) each hauled in scoring receptions for the Wildcats in victory.

Landon Bowles (18 of 32, 181 yards, TD pass; TD run) led the Hawks in defeat.

Both the Wildcats and Hawks are 2-4 on the season, but the Wildcats are 1-0 in 3-A South play with the Hawks having fallen to 0-1.

Richfield hosts Carbon next Friday evening while North Sanpete travels to Nephi to face the Juab Wasps.

PRICE, Utah-Larson Pogroszewski threw touchdown passes to Keegan Strickland (36 yards), Alex Cox (15 yards) and Reggie Frischknecht (25 yards) as the Manti Templars routed Carbon 43-21 Friday in 3-A South play. Strickland caught a 30-yard touchdown pass from Maison Starkweather and Frischknecht added a 6-yard touchdown run for the Templars.

CEDAR CITY, Utah-Chase Ingram had scoring runs of 79 and 66 yards and the Juab Wasps clobbered Canyon View 41-14 in 3-A South play Friday. Alex Jackson threw scoring passes of 71 yards (Austin Park) and Syrus Butts (4 yards) with Wesley Nielsen adding a 4-yard touchdown run for the Wasps. Ryker Richards also made field goals of 35 and 42 yards for Juab.

2-A South

FILLMORE, Utah-James Stephenson threw touchdown passes to Mekhi Davis (26 yards, 1 yard) and Eric Larsen (46 yards) as the Millard Eagles hammered Grand 46-7 Friday in 2-A South play.  KC Whitaker (6 yards), Morgan Wade (19 yards), Stephenson (2 yards) and Taylor Davies (7 yards) added scoring runs for the Eagles in the rout.

BEAVER, Utah-Statler Wright (8 yards), Ayden Bradshaw (3 yards), Briston Jessup (1 yard) and Gage Edwards (38 yards) all had touchdown runs and the Beaver Beavers waxed Delta 28-13 in 2-A South play Friday. Josh Jackson and Ryder Rogers each had 1-yard touchdown runs in defeat for the Rabbits.

BLANDING, Utah-Jace Palmer threw two touchdown passes to Keaton Ivins (18 and 22 yards) and ran for another score and the San Juan Broncos hammered South Sevier 56-3 Friday in 2-A South play. Trenton Garrett had a 34-yard field goal in the loss for the Rams.

1-A South

GUNNISON, Utah-The Parowan Rams surged past the Gunnison Valley Bulldogs 32-20 in 1-A South play Friday.

KANAB, Utah-Nate Stewart had scoring runs of 6 and 4 yards as the Kanab Cowboys doubled up Enterprise 14-7 Friday in 1-A South play. Matthew Ramos ran for a 3-yard score in defeat for the Wolves.

SALINA, Utah-Dylan Ferguson nailed a 38-yard field goal to complete a comeback from a 15-0 deficit as the Milford Tigers downed North Sevier 18-15 in 1-A South play Friday, spoiling Homecoming for the Wolves. Blake Barnes (4 yards) and Bo Hardy (49 yards) had touchdown runs in victory for the Tigers. Kannin Boswell (5 yards) and Ryker Frischknecht (43 yards) had touchdown runs for the Wolves in the loss.

Baseball

1-A South

HURRICANE, Utah-The Diamond Ranch Diamondbacks mowed over Wayne 8-3 Friday in 1-A South baseball play. Garrett Robins had four strikeouts in defeat for the Badgers.

GREEN RIVER, Utah-Brock Syrett drove in a pair of runs and the Bryce Valley Mustangs smacked Green River 11-0 in 1-A South baseball play Friday. Jaxon Brinkerhoff had six strikeouts in the win for the Mustangs.

PANGUITCH, Utah-Tucker Chappell’s three RBI led the way and the Panguitch Bobcats outlasted Valley 5-4 Friday in 1-A South baseball play. Hunter Cox drove in a pair of runs for the Buffaloes in the loss.

PRICE, Utah-Piute dominated the Pinnacle Panthers 18-1 Friday in 1A South region baseball action Friday.

Volleyball

Region 18

LEHI, Utah-The Wasatch Academy Tigers blanked Utah Military-Camp Williams 3-0 in Region 18 volleyball play Friday. The Tigers prevailed over the Marauders, 25-19, 25-22, 25-13.

Region 20

ORDERVILLE, Utah-The Escalante Moquis downed Valley 3-2 Friday in Region 20 volleyball play. The Moquis got past the Buffaloes 26-24, 22-25, 23-25, 28-26, 15-7 to get the win.

Girls Tennis

MOAB, Utah-The South Sevier Rams girls tennis team beat Grand County 3-2 Friday in region play. The Rams won in 2nd singles with Katelynn Sorenson, first doubles with Taysia Thompson and Naveah Kelly, and in 2nd doubles with Sydney Patterson and Braylee Marshall.

BLANDING, Utah-The South Sevier Rams girls tennis team beat San Juan 5-0 Friday for a region sweep. Kaizlee Bringhurst won 1st singles, Katelyn Sorenson won 2nd singles and Sydney Patterson won 3rd singles. In doubles play, Taysia Thompson and Naveah Kelley 1st doubles and Aliya Torgerson, Braylee Marshall and Emmalie Peterson won in 2nd doubles.
