Baseball

1A South

BICKNELL, Utah-Hunter Mitchell drove in a pair of runs and the Wayne Badgers outlasted Bryce Valley 4-3 in 1A South play Wednesday. Jake Batty posted seven strikeouts in five innings of play for Wayne in the victory. Trey Clark, Ronaldo Santini and Antonio Moreno each drove in a run for the Mustangs in the loss.

ORDERVILLE, Utah-Bret Heaton hit two doubles and scored three runs as the Valley Buffaloes stormed past Green River 14-4 Wednesday in 1A South play. Ivan Spencer earned the win on the mound for the Buffaloes. Jarrett Guerrera drove in a run in the loss for the Pirates.

PANGUITCH, Utah-Shea Miller threw a complete game shutout with six strikeouts to lead the Panguitch Bobcats to a 2-0 win over Piute in 1A South play Wednesday. Cole Harland scored and doubled in the win for the Bobcats.

Volleyball

Region 20

PANGUITCH, Utah-The Panguitch Bobcats downed the Valley Buffaloes 3-0 in Region 20 volleyball play Wednesday. The Bobcats prevailed 25-14, 25-15, 25-18 to earn the straight sets victory over Valley.

BICKNELL, Utah-The Wayne Badgers stonewalled Milford 3-1 Wednesday in Region 20 volleyball play. The Badgers bested the Tigers 25-23, 25-16, 19-25, 25-23.

Boys Golf

Region 19

RICHFIELD, Utah-The Beaver Beavers won the Region 19 boys golf tournament Wednesday at Cove View Golf Course in Richfield. The Beavers shot a 305 as a team winning by 17 strokes over second place South Sevier. Kanab finished third, followed by Parowan, Enterprise and San Juan.

Individually Beaver’s Hoyt Blomquist placed first with a 72. His teammates, Sky Moon and Ashton Bartlett, tied for second with Enterprise’s Jex Jones as they all shot a 77. South Sevier’s Braxton Stubbs rounded out the top five with a 78.

Girls Tennis

Non-Region

MONROE, Utah-South Sevier Girls Tennis swept Delta 5-0 in non-region play Wednesday. In 1st Singles, Brooke Carter won 6-1, 6-2. 2nd Singles, Sydnee Patterson won 6-0, 6-2. 3rd Singles, Beth Robinson won a three set match 6-2, 4-6, 6-3.  Mya Deaton and Katelyn Sorenson won at 1st Doubles 4-6, 7-5, 6-0. At 2nd Doubles, Laken Larsen and Jadee Lund won 6-2, 4-6, 6-1.
