2A 1st Round

Kanab Pod

KANAB, Utah-Kanon Virostko homered and the No. 2 Kanab Cowboys smoked No. 7 Parowan 13-0 Saturday to win the Kanab pod. Walker Baird netted 10 strikeouts in five innings of work to earn the win on the mound for the Cowboys. Kanab next plays in the state quarterfinals Thursday at 7:00 pm at Miller Park on the campus of Brigham Young University against No. 3 Gunnison Valley.

KANAB, Utah-Sayer Fenus drove in four runs and the No. 2 Kanab Cowboys lassoed No. 15 Grand County 11-0 at the Kanab Pod Saturday. Kyan Lyman’s 13 strikeouts in five innings of work earned the win on the mound for the Cowboys.

KANAB, Utah-Gradey Osborne, Braxton Blauer, Tyrel Vest and Lucas Williamson drove in a run apiece and the No. 7 Parowan Rams overpowered No. 10 Enterprise 5-3 Saturday at the Kanab Pod. Koleman Styler and Aiden Emmett drove in a run each in the loss for the Wolves. Enterprise next visits No. 9 North Sevier Tuesday at 3:30 pm in the elimination battle of the Wolves.

One-Loss Bracket

KANAB, Utah-Jack Moyle, Wyatt Hunt and Trek Jones drove in a run apiece and the No. 10 Enterprise Wolves outlasted No. 15 Grand 5-4, ending the Red Devils’ season Saturday. Javin Randall posted five strikeouts in 3.1 innings of work to earn the win on the mound for Enterprise. Javlen Pierce drove in two runs in the loss for the Red Devils.

Gunnison Pod

GUNNISON, Utah-Axton Sorenson and Dillon Dyreng drove in two runs apiece and the No. 3 Gunnison Valley Bulldogs overpowered No. 6 American Leadership 11-7 to win the Gunnison pod Saturday. Braxton Pickett recorded four strikeouts in four innings of work to earn the win on the mound for the Bulldogs. Justus Brost homered in the loss for the Eagles.

GUNNISON, Utah-Dillon Dyreng, Waylon Sorenson and Axton Sorenson drove in two runs apiece and the No. 3 Gunnison Valley Bulldogs smoked No. 14 Millard 10-0 Saturday at the Gunnison Pod. Waylon Sorenson posted 14 strikeouts in five innings of work to earn the win on the mound for the Bulldogs.

GUNNISON, Utah-Justus Brost drove in three runs and the No. 6 American Leadership Eagles edged No. 11 South Summit 8-7 at the Gunnison pod Saturday. Boston Fenn netted two strikeouts in one inning of work to earn the win on the mound for the Eagles. Riggin Crittenden, Brody Larson and Beckett Peterson drove in two runs apiece in the loss for the Wildcats.

One-Loss Bracket

GUNNISON, Utah-Ammon Memmott and Braden Larsen drove in a run apiece and the No. 14 Millard Eagles upset No. 11 South Summit 3-1 in the one-loss bracket Saturday at Gunnison Valley High School, ending the Wildcats’ season. Brody Larson drove in a run in defeat for the Wildcats. Millard next visits No. 5 South Sevier Tuesday at 3:30 pm in the one-loss bracket.

Beaver Pod

BEAVER, Utah-Davin Orton, Raider Blomquist and Beckham Beaumont homered as the No. 1 Beaver Beavers blitzed No. 9 North Sevier 16-1 Saturday to win the Beaver pod at Beaver High School. Davin Orton posted three strikeouts in three innings of work to earn the win on the mound for the Beavers. Beaver next advances to the state quarterfinals Thursday at 4:30 pm at Miller Park on the campus of Brigham Young University against No. 4 San Juan.

BEAVER, Utah-Tyge Blomquist drove in four runs and the No. 1 Beaver Beavers hammered No. 16 North Summit 18-1 at the Beaver pod Saturday. Gabe Robinson netted nine strikeouts in four innings of work to earn the win on the mound for the Beavers. Patton Brock drove in a run in the loss for the Braves.

BEAVER, Utah-Boston Bosshardt drove in a pair of runs and the No. 9 North Sevier Wolves downed No. 8 Monticello 7-3 Saturday at the Beaver pod. Koy Wasden netted three strikeouts in 2.2 innings of work to earn the win on the mound for the Wolves. Cache Young, Triston Felix and Jackson Keyes drove in a run apiece in the loss for the Buckaroos.

One Loss Bracket 

BEAVER, Utah-Jackson Keyes drove in for runs and the No. 8 Monticello Buckaroos blanked No. 16 North Summit 11-0 at the Beaver pod Saturday,  ending the Braves’ season. Triston Felix recorded 12 strikeouts in five innings of work to earn the win on the mound for the Buckaroos.

San Juan Pod

BLANDING, Utah-Keilan Hutchins drove in a pair of runs and the No. 4 San Juan Broncos overpowered No. 5 South Sevier 6-2 to win the San Juan pod Saturday. Kreed Herring netted 13 strikeouts in seven innings of work to earn the win on the mound for the Broncos. Hayden Edwards drove in a run in the loss for the Rams.

BLANDING, Utah-Keilan Hutchins homered and the No. 4 San Juan Broncos smacked No. 13 Duchesne 16-6 Saturday at the San Juan pod. Jagger Nieves netted five strikeouts in four innings of work to earn the win on the mound for the Broncos. Nashden Goodliffe, Wyatt Christensen and Scottie Branson drove in a run apiece in the loss for the Eagles.

BLANDING, Utah-Grady Heaps drove in four runs and the No. 5 South Sevier Rams torched No. 12 Milford 17-4 at the San Juan pod Saturday. Trayl Parsons netted seven strikeouts in five innings of work to earn the win on the mound for the Rams. Marco Saavedra drove in two runs in the loss for the Tigers.

BLANDING, Utah-Nashden Goodliffe homered and the No. 13 Duchesne Eagles clipped No. 12 Milford 9-5 at the San Juan pod Saturday, ending the Tigers’ season. Scottie Branson posted three strikeouts in five innings of work to earn the win on the mound for the Eagles. Bradyn Carter and Slade Kesler drove in two runs apiece in the loss for the Tigers.

Softball

2A First Round

KAMAS, Utah-Adeline Aste homered and the No. 8 South Summit Wildcats routed No. 9 Parowan 14-1 in the first round of the 2A state softball tournament Saturday. Jayvien Clegg netted five strikeouts in five innings of work to earn the win in the circle for the Wildcats. South Summit next faces No. 1 San Juan Thursday at 2:15 pm at the Spanish Fork Softball Complex.

MOAB, Utah-Bailey Althoff, Zoey Wilson and Kaiya Moore drove in two runs apiece and the No. 7 Grand County Red Devils stonewalled No. 10 Millard 12-1 Saturday in the first round of the 2A state tournament. Chloe Byrd recorded 10 strikeouts in five innings of work to earn the win in the circle for the Red Devils. Grand County next faces No. 2 Beaver Thursday at 2:15 pm at the Spanish Fork Softball Complex.

Duchesne Pod

DUCHESNE, Utah-Breklyn Skewes, Prezley Farnsworth and Madi Larsen homered and the No. 3 Duchesne Eagles soared past No. 14 North Summit 16-0 Saturday in the first round of the 2A state tournament at the Duchesne Pod. Lorisa Mower netted four strikeouts in three innings of work to earn the win in the circle for the Eagles. Duchesne faces No. 6 Gunnison Valley Thursday at 2:15 pm at the Spanish Fork Softball Complex.

DUCHESNE, Utah-Rylee Bartholomew homoered and the No. 6 Gunnison Valley Bulldogs smoked No. 11 North Sevier 12-2 Saturday in the Duchesne pod. Bartholomew posted 11 strikeouts in four innings of work to earn the win in the circle for the Bulldogs.

DUCHESNE, Utah-Kadee Bosshardt homered twice and the No. 11 North Sevier Wolves eliminated No. 14 North Summit with a 15-11 win Saturday at the Duchesne pod. Tesslee Quarnberg netted five strikeouts in two innings of work to earn the win in the circle for the Wolves. Raylan Woolsey and Ashlyn Lefler drove in two runs apiece in defeat for the Braves.

Enterprise Pod

ENTERPRISE, Utah-Alexi Walker, Brynlon Nelson, Bryn Hawkins and Lauren Ramos drove in two runs apiece and the No. 4 Enterprise Wolves routed No. 13 American Leadership 17-2 at the Enteprise Pod Saturday. Mylee Platt netted seven strikeouts in four innings of work to earn the win in the circle for the Wolves. Oaklie Johnson drove in a run in the loss for the Eagles. Enterprise next faces No. 5 South Sevier Thursday at 2:15 pm at the Spanish Fork Softball Complex.
