3-A Quarterfinals @ SLCC

WEST JORDAN, Utah-Josh Staley posted a pair of RBI and earned the win on the mound as the Grantsville Cowboys vanquished Juab 5-0 in the 3-A state baseball quarterfinals Thursday at Cate Stadium. Staley netted seven strikeouts in six innings of work for the Cowboys. Grantsville next plays in the 3-A state semifinals Friday at 4:30 pm against Richfield. Juab moves to the consolation bracket for an 11:00 am opening pitch Friday at SLCC against Manti.

WEST JORDAN, Utah-Kasey Giddings homered twice while Dallin Stewart and Reggie Hafen each had crucial 3-RBI triples as the Richfield Wildcats upset Judge 9-5 at Cate Stadium Thursday in the 3-A state baseball quarterfinals. Gavin Brown drove in two more runs for the Wildcats while Max Robinson surrendered only four hits in earning the win on the mound for Richfield.

3-A Consolation Bracket

WEST JORDAN, Utah-Troy Madsen symmetrically posted four RBI and four hits as the Manti Templars outgunned Delta 23-17 Thursday in the 3-A consolation bracket at Cate Field. Britton Keisel came through with a pair of key strikeouts to help the Templars outlast the Rabbits in a game that saw 40 net runs and 38 net hits. Cody Larsen and Wayland Crane came through with four hits apiece for the Rabbits in the loss.

DRAPER, Utah-Wayland Crane had an RBI triple and earned the win on the mound as the Delta Rabbits stayed alive in the 3-A bracket by besting Morgan 3-1 Thursday at Juan Diego Catholic High School. Crane posted 14 strikeouts by going the distance on the mound for the Rabbits. Delta next plays Manti- Thursday at 4:30 pm at Salt Lake Community College.

SOUTH JORDAN, Utah-Nathan Squire posted three RBI and four hits as the Manti Templars overpowered Union 14-9 at Bingham High School Thursday in the 3-A consolation bracket. Jason Nelson pitched five innings on the mound for the Templars, earning the win.

SOUTH JORDAN, Utah-Luke Stilson posted six strikeouts in 5.1 innings of work as the Emery Spartans outlasted North Sanpete 12-11 to stay alive in the 3-A consolation bracket at Bingham High School. Emery next faces Carbon Thursday evening at 7:00 pm at Cate Field.

2-A Quarterfinals @ Spanish Fork

SPANISH FORK, Utah-Harley Hill and Janzen Keisel had an RBI apiece as the Gunnison Valley Bulldogs waxed Beaver 4-1 at Nelson Field Thursday in the 2-A state quarterfinals. Keisel earned the win on the mound for the Bulldogs, posting 15 strikeouts in 6.2 innings of work. Gunnison Valley next plays in the 2-A state semifinals Friday at 4:30 pm against Parowan.

SPANISH FORK, Utah-Shaydon Benson posted two RBI and earned the win on the mound, going the distance with nine strikeouts as the Parowan Rams blanked Kanab 4-0 in the 2-A state baseball quarterfinals at Nelson Field Thursday. The Cowboys next play the winner of Enterprise-Millard in the consolation bracket.

2-A Consolation Bracket @ Spanish Fork

SPANISH FORK, Utah-Danny Garcia drove in a pair of runs and the Millard Eagles stayed alive in the consolation bracket by downing Milford 7-4 Thursday at Maple Mountain High School. Peyton Rasmussen earned the win on the mound for the Eagles, netting 5 strikeouts by going the distance. Millard next faces Enterprise Thursday evening at 7:00 pm at Spanish Fork Sports Park.

SPANISH FORK, Utah-Draker Goodliffe posted five RBI and three hits as the Duchesne Eagles bested North Sevier 12-10 Thursday at the Spanish Fork Sports Park. The Eagles next face Beaver Friday at 11:00 am at Nelson Park in Spanish Fork in the 2-A consolation bracket. Ryker Frischknecht had three RBI in defeat for the Wolves as their season drew to a close.

SPANISH FORK, Utah-Karson Stauffer drove in a pair of runs and the Enterprise Wolves downed Millard 7-2 Thursday at Nelson Park in the 2-A consolation bracket. Ryland Randall posted seven strikeouts for the Wolves to earn the win on the mound, ending the Eagles’ season. Enterprise next faces Kanab Friday at 1:30 pm in the consolation bracket.

3-A State Second Round

SPANISH FORK, Utah-Kassidy Alder, Madison Scottorn and Adalee Olson had 2 RBI apiece as the Manti Templars routed Morgan 13-3 in the second round of the 3-A state softball tournament at the Spanish Fork Softball Complex. Tiffany Hermansen earned the win in the circle for Manti. Morgan now plays in the consolation bracket against North Sanpete at 2:30 pm Thursday at the Spanish Fork Softball Complex.

3-A State Consolation Bracket

SPANISH FORK, Utah-Joey Kay drove in three runs and the Juab Wasps stayed alive in the consolation bracket by besting Union 9-8 Thursday at the Spanish Fork Softball Complex. The Wasps next face Emery in the consolation bracket Thursday evening.

SPANISH FORK, Utah-Indigo North and Kayzlie Reed each drove in three runs and the North Sanpete Hawks downed Morgan 11-6 at the Spanish Fork Complex Thursday in the consolation bracket. North Sanpete continues their Thursday by playing Carbon in the consolation bracket.

SPANISH FORK, Utah-Lyndsey Madrigal posted 4 RBI and the Carbon Dinos pounded North Sanpete 12-1 in the 3-A softball consolation bracket at the Spanish Fork Softball Complex Thursday. Haven Byerly earned the win in the circle for the Dinos by posting nine strikeouts in five innings of work. Carbon plays at 12:15 Friday in the consolation bracket against the loser of Grantsville-South Summit.

SPANISH FORK, Utah-Taleigh Price homered and the Emery Spartans mowed over Delta 13-3 in the 3-A softball consolation bracket Thursday at the Spanish Fork Softball Complex. Emery next plays Juab in the consolation bracket Thursday.

Emery next plays Friday at 12:15 pm in the consolation bracket against the loser of the Manti-Grand game.

2-A State Second Round

SPANISH FORK, Utah-Kelsey Grant and Grace Davis drove in two runs apiece and the No. 1 Duchesne Eagles routed No. 8 seed Millard 10-0 Thursday at the Spanish Fork Softball Complex in the second round of the 2-A state tournament. Grant earned the win in the circle for the Duchesne Eagles by pitching five innings and surrendering only three hits. Shaylee Burraston’s four strikeouts paced the Millard Eagles in defeat.

Millard goes into the consolation bracket to face Utah Military Hill Field Thursday at 2:30 pm at the Spanish Fork Softball Complex.

SPANISH FORK, Utah-Madi Robinson drove in three runs and the Beaver Beavers routed Parowan 10-3 Thursday in the second round of the 2-A state tournament at the Spanish Fork Softball Complex. Robinson also earned the win in the circle for the Beavers.

2-A Consolation Bracket

SPANISH FORK, Lexi Hernandez drove in three runs and the Altamont Longhorns ended Millard’s season with an 8-6 win over the Eagles Thursday in the 2-A consolation bracket at the Spanish Fork Softball Complex. Oakley Foy posted five strikeouts in the circle as she went the distance to secure the win for the Longhorns. Aubree Lunt and Halle Warner had 2 RBI apiece in the loss for the Eagles. Altamont next faces the loser of Beaver-Gunnison Valley Friday at 12:15 pm in the consolation bracket.
