Region 12
NEPHI, Utah-Gavin Kirschner posted 11 points on 5-9 from the field and 1-1 from range as the Richfield Wildcats overpowered Juab 67-53 in Region 12 boys basketball play Wednesday at The Pit, spoiling Senior Night for the Wasps. Austin Park’s 18 points on 8-15 from the field led the Wasps in the loss.
Richfield shot 51 percent (26-51) for the game in improving to 14-7 and 10-3 in Region 12 play. The Wasps fell to 11-10 and 4-9 in Region 12 play.
Richfield concludes the regular season Friday by hosting Delta for Senior Night. Juab concludes the regular season Friday at Manti as it will be Senior Night for the Templars.
MANTI, Utah-Reggie Frischknecht recorded 30 points and 15 rebounds and the Manti Templars bested North Sanpete 75-65 Wednesday in Region 12 boys basketball play. Dimick Huntington led the Hawks with 26 points in the loss.
DELTA, Utah-Jace Farrow posted 20 points and the Canyon View Falcons humbled Delta 51-44 in Region 12 boys basketball play Wednesday at the Palladium. Cai Henderson’s game-high 23 points led the Rabbits in the loss.
Region 15
SALINA, Utah-Steele Vernon and Buck Sargent had 18 points apiece and the North Summit Braves stymied North Sevier 62-57 Wednesday in Region 15 boys basketball play. Kade Johnson’s 14 points led the Wolves in defeat.
GUNNISON, Utah-Tyson Tucker posted 20 points and the Gunnison Valley Bulldogs hammered Duchesne 74-54 in Region 15 boys basketball play Wednesday. Parker Crum had 17 points in the loss for the Eagles.
Region 18
KANAB, Utah-Cash Mortensen led the way with 20 points and the Kanab Cowboys pummeled Water Canyon 71-46 in Region 18 boys basketball play Wednesday. David Barlow led the Wildcats in the loss with 17 points.
BEAVER, Utah-Jaggar Redd netted 14 points and the South Sevier Rams got past Beaver 49-44 Wednesday in Region 18 boys basketball play. Baylor Blackburn led the Beavers in defeat with 19 points and 7 rebounds.
FILLMORE, Utah-Treyson Whitman posted 22 points and the Enterprise Wolves stonewalled Millard 78-60 in Region 18 boys basketball play Wednesday. Stockton Stevens had 11 points in the loss for the Eagles.
Girls Basketball
Region 20
JUNCTION, Utah-Tabetha Henrie stepped up with 14 points and the Panguitch Bobcats drilled Piute 49-29 in Region 20 girls basketball play Thursday. Kaycee Gleave led the Thunderbirds in the loss with 12 points.
TROPIC, Utah-McKayla Jones led the way with 11 points and the Wayne Badgers dismantled Bryce Valley 52-39 Thursday in Region 20 girls basketball play. Kinlee Brinkerhoff’s game-high 17 points led the Mustangs in defeat.
