Boys Basketball

2A State Championship Game @ SVC

RICHFIELD, Utah-Kyle Brown recorded 14 points on 6-9 from the field and the No. 1 Kanab Cowboys broke a 50-year state championship drought in boys basketball by downing No. 2 South Sevier 49-39 at the Sevier Valley Center Saturday in the 2A state championship game. Brace Brindley’s 10 points led the Rams in the loss. Kanab has now won two state championships in boys basketball (1975, 2025).

3rd-4th Place Game @ SVC

RICHFIELD, Utah-Trevor Richins recorded 29 points and 12 rebounds on 9-14 from the field and 11-12 at the foul line as the No. 3 North Summit Braves secured third place at the 2A state tournament with a 65-55 win over No. 4 ALA Saturday at the Sevier Valley Center. Grant Jackson’s 16 points and 5 rebounds on 5-10 from the field led the Eagles in the loss.

5th-6th Place Game @ SVC

RICHFIELD, Utah-Treyson Whitman posted 21 points and 10 rebounds on 8-11 from the field and 1-1 from range as the No. 6 Enterprise Wolves achieved 5th place at the 2A state tournament with a 60-48 win over No. 12 North Sevier at the Sevier Valley Center Saturday. Brody Bulloch’s 15 points and 5 rebounds on 6-12 from the field led the North Sevier Wolves in defeat.

1A First Round

ESCALANTE, Utah-Rayce Jenkins netted 23 points and the No. 14 Escalante Moquis smacked No. 19 Telos 80-39 in the first round of the 1A state playoffs Saturday. Escalante will next face No. 3 Milford Wednesday at 7:00 pm at Richfield High School in the second round of the state playoffs.

WENDOVER, Utah-Raul Valle led the way with 16 points and the No. 15 Wendover Wildcats decimated No. 18 Dugway 79-25 Saturday in the first round of the 1A state playoffs. Gary Williams led the Mustangs in defeat with 10 points. Wendover next draws No. 2 Panguitch Wednesday at 4:00 pm in the second round of the state playoffs at Richfield High School.

Girls Basketball

State Championship Game @ SVC

RICHFIELD, Utah-Kinley Jenson recorded 17 points and 8 rebounds on 8-13 from the field and the No. 3 South Sevier Rams upset No. 1 North Summit 58-57 to win the 2A state championship Saturday at the Sevier Valley Center. Hayzlyn Murdock netted 29 points and 7 rebounds on 11-19 from the field, 3-3 from behind the arc and 4-4 at the foul line in a losing effort for the Braves. South Sevier has now won 7 state girls basketball titles in school history (1981, 1982, 2000, 2007, 2008, 2020 and 2025).

3rd-4th Place Game @ SVC

RICHFIELD, Utah-Rylee Little netted 19 points and 18 rebounds and the No. 2 Kanab Lady Cowboys lassoed No. 4 Draper APA 58-34 at the Sevier Valley Center Saturday to earn third place in the 2A state tournament. Savannah Bateman added 17 points and 7 rebounds in the win for Kanab. Samantha Kartchner’s 15 points and 8 rebounds led the Eagles in the loss.

5th-6th Place Game @ SVC

RICHFIELD, Utah-Gentry Brown netted 20 points and 5 rebounds on 3-5 behind the arc and the No. 6 Beaver Beavers downed No. 5 Duchesne 57-49 Saturday at the Sevier Valley Center to earn 5th place at the 2A state tournament. Chezney Farnsworth led the Eagles in the loss with 13 points and 6 rebounds on 6-12 from the field.
