1A Preview @ Sevier Valley Center

RICHFIELD, Utah-Haygen Jamison posted 22 points and 14 rebounds on 9-12 from the field and the Tintic Miners routed Monticello 72-52 at the Sevier Valley Center Saturday during the 1A boys basketball preview. The Miners shot 54 percent (29-54) in the win. Curtis Bunker’s 24 points and 7 rebounds on 9-13 from the field led the Buckaroos in the loss.

RICHFIELD, Utah-Kilo Tsosie netted 13 points and 11 rebounds on 6-12 from the field and Taylor Dotson added 13 points on 6-11 from the field as the Milford Tigers pounded Monument Valley 65-26 during the 1A boys basketball preview Saturday at the Sevier Valley Center. Braxton Goodshield had 10 points in the loss for the Cougars.

RICHFIELD, Utah-Johnny Cox posted 21 points and 14 rebounds on 9-18 from the field and the Valley Buffalos humbled Whitehorse 61-47 Saturday during the 1A boys basketball preview at the Sevier Valley Center. Lyric Phillips had 17 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists for the Raiders in defeat.

RICHFIELD, Utah-Jaxen Cottam’s 22 points and 11 rebounds led the way and the Escalante Moquis pounded Telos 63-35 during the 1A boys basketball preview Saturday at the SEvier Valley Center. Korben Young added 20 points and 8 rebounds in victory for Escalante. Christian Kent’s 10 points led the Titans in the loss.

RICHFIELD, Utah-Jaden Gardner and Kale Garner each recorded 12 points on 5 of 8 from the field as the Maeser Prep Lions bested Pinnacle 52-45 Saturday during the 1A boys basketball preview at the Sevier Valley Center. Cole Barton’s game-high 34 points on 11-20 from the field led the Panthers in the loss.

RICHFIELD, Utah-Jaxon Westwood posted 29 points on 11-19 and the Piute Thunderbirds downed Rich 59-49 Saturday at the 1A boys basketball preview at the Sevier Valley Center. Carson Muirbrook netted 14 points and 5 rebounds for the Rebels in the loss.

RICHFIELD, Utah-Cache Eyre’s 17 points and 13 rebounds led the way and the Panguitch Bobcats smacked Tabiona 62-44 at the Sevier Valley Center Saturday during the 1A boys basketball preview. Easton Peterson’s 16 points led the Tigers in the loss.

RICHFIELD, Utah-Jake Batty posted 35 points and 15 rebounds on 15-18 from the field as the Wayne Badgers surged past Green River 74-58 during the 1A boys basketball preview Saturday at the Sevier Valley Center. Luis Hernandez had 17 points and 6 rebounds on 6-10 from the field in the loss for the Pirates.

Non-Region

DUCHESNE, Utah-Dallin Porter and Parker Crum had 13 points apiece and the Duchesne Eagles routed Beaver 56-38 Saturday in non-region boys basketball play. Deegan Blackner’s game-high 17 points led the Beavers in the loss.

Girls Basketball

Buffalo Shootout

ORDERVILLE, Utah-Shimequa Hudson posted 18 points and the Monument Valley Cougars downed Valley 47-31 at the Buffalo Shootout Saturday at Valley High School. Kimber Reeve and Lindsay Franklin had 8 points apiece in the loss for the Buffalos.

Non-Region

TROPIC, Utah-Cashae Tebbs and Kinlee Brinkerhoff had 18 points apiece and the Bryce Valley Mustangs routed San Juan 54-39 in non-region girls basketball play Saturday. Shaylin Nez led the Broncos with 12 points in the loss.

SALINA, Utah-Jessica Applegarth recorded 20 points and the North Sanpete Hawks edged North Sevier 51-47 Saturday in non-region girls basketball play. Alyssa Rosquist’s 19 points led the Wolves in defeat.
