MT. PLEASANT, Utah-Landon Bowles completed 20 of 37 passes for 315 yards and 3 TD’s as the North Sanpete Hawks bested Manti 28-20, completing a successful Homecoming game.
The Hawks (3-5, 1-2 in 3-A South play) earned their first region victory of the season and now face winnable competition in Canyon View and Carbon to conclude the regular season.
Bowles’ top target, Kolby Robinson (7 rec, 139 yards, 2 TD’s) was also instrumental in the Hawks’ success, hauling in scoring passes of 18 and 19 yards for North Sanpete in the win.
Bowles also threw a 13-yard scoring strike to Morgan Bowles and added a 5-yard touchdown run for North Sanpete in the win.
In defeat, Kayson Douglas threw a 28-yard touchdown pass to Scott Lee, while Maison Starkweather had a 3-yard touchdown run and tossed a 37-yard scoring strike to Keegan Strickland in defeat for the Templars.
Manti fell to 3-4 and 2-1 in 3-A South play with the loss.
The Hawks visit Canyon View next Friday and the Templars host Richfield next Friday as they celebrate Homecoming with 3-A South play ensuing for both squads.
NEPHI, Utah-Alex Jackson had an 8-yard touchdown run in the closing moments as the Juab Wasps evaded an upset by edging Richfield 28-27 Friday in 3-A South play. Jackson also tossed three scoring passes for the Wasps, connecting with Peyton Park (45 yards), Chase Ingram (12 yards) and Wesley Nielsen (28 yards). In defeat, Reggie Hafen had scoring runs of 2 yards and 1 yard while Jaron Ross added a 5-yard touchdown run for the Wildcats. JT Raisor also nailed a 36-yard field goal for Richfield in the loss.
2-A South
BEAVER, Utah-Briston Jessup had scoring runs of 26 yards and 1 yard and the Beaver Beavers decimated Millard 56-6 in 2-A South play Friday. Tyten Fails added scoring tosses to Boston Black (18 yards) and Jayton Jessup (8 yards) for the Beavers. In the rout, the Beavers also received touchdown runs from Cobe Carter (8 yards and 3 yards) and Deagan Horner (55 yards) with Statler Wright adding a 44-yard fumble recovery for another score. Eric Larsen returned a fumble 50 yards for a touchdown for Millard’s sole score of the game.
DELTA, Utah-Jensen Grover ran for three scores and Jace Palmer threw a pair of scoring passes as the San Juan Broncos outgunned Delta 43-34 Friday in 2-A South play. Josh Jackson threw a 70-yard touchdown pass to Trey Butler in defeat for the Rabbits, with Carson Denbow (5 yards), Cam Skeem (2 yards), Wayland Crane (21 yards) and Jackson (1 yard) all running for scores in the loss for Delta.
MONROE, Utah-Carter Abraham threw touchdown passes to Seth Checketts (35 yards) and Braxton Price (70 yards) as the South Sevier Rams bested Grand 48-0 in 2-A South play Friday. South Sevier also received touchdown runs from Porter Marr (6 yards), Brock Bair (12 yards) and Cole Peterson (3 yards).
1-A South
PAROWAN, Utah-Treven Yardley had scoring runs of 1, 5, 5 and 50 yards as the Parowan Rams routed North Sevier 41-7 Friday in 1-A South play. Easton Jense and Tysen Gale also had touchdown runs for the Rams in the victory. Kannin Boswell had a 1-yard touchdown run for the Wolves in defeat.
ENTERPRISE, Utah-Jeddy Crittenden had touchdown runs of 30 and 5 yards as the Enterprise Wolves waxed Gunnison Valley 42-7 in 1-A South play Friday. Dylan Anderson had a 15-yard touchdown run in the loss for the Bulldogs.
MILFORD, Utah-Travis Stewart had a 38-yard touchdown run and returned a interception 60 yards for another score as the Kanab Cowboys gashed Milford 27-14 Friday in 1-A South play. Griffin Bone added touchdown passes to Noah McCorvey (22 yards) and Nate Stewart (51 yards) for the Cowboys. In defeat, Kielen Tsosie threw touchdown passes to Corbyn Dalton (86 yards) and Blake Barnes (12 yards) for the Tigers.

Region 19
BLANDING, Utah-The South Sevier Rams stymied San Juan 3-0 Friday in Region 19 volleyball play. The Rams bested the Broncos 25-19, 25-15, 25-20.
Region 20
JUNCTION, Utah-The Piute Thunderbirds waxed Valley 3-1 in Region 20 volleyball play Friday. The Thunderbirds bested the Buffaloes 25-19, 25-10, 21-25, 25-20.
Non-Region
BICKNELL, Utah-The Tabiona Tigers outlasted the Wayne Badgers 3-2 Friday in non-region volleyball action. The Tigers prevailed 25-15, 24-26, 23-25, 25-13, 15-4.
