North Outlasts South As Grantsville’s Ethan Rainer Has Big Game

EPHRAIM, Utah-Union’s Jackson Rasmussen threw an 11-yard touchdown pass to Ethan Rainer of Grantsville in the closing seconds and the North 1A/2A/3A All-Stars bested the South 1A/2A/3A All-Stars 14-8 Saturday evening at Stoddard Field at Terry Foote Stadium on the campus of Snow College.

Rainer also ended the game for all intents and purposes with a sack of Richfield’s Emery Thorson on the ensuing drive as the South had driven deeply into North territory.

Rainer added two interceptions for good measure in the victory for the North.

Thorson completed 16 of 32 passes for 233 yards and a touchdown, along with two interceptions, in the loss for the South.

San Juan’s Jerzy Nieves (7 rec, 98 yards) and his teammate, Collin Baker (7 rec, 90 yards, TD; 2-point conversion catch) led the South in the loss as well.
