NEPHI, Utah-Tuesday evening, Juab junior multi-sport star Austin Park committed to play baseball at Brigham Young University.
Park confirmed this on his X account, stating after much thought, prayer and talks with the BYU staff, he made the decision to sign with the Cougars.
Park is presently the Wasps’ starting quarterback in football. Entering Friday’s playoff game against North Sanpete, Park is completing 54 percent of his passes for 1,454 yards, 16 touchdowns and 11 interceptions.
Park also excels in basketball for Juab, scoring a team-best 14.9 points per game for the Wasps, who advanced to the 3A state championship last February at America First Event Center on the campus of Southern Utah University.
Last season on the diamond for the Wasps, Park batted .432 at the plate, amassing 28 RBI and 2 home runs.
Park also boasts a .902 fielding percentage last season for Juab.
