SALT LAKE CITY-Thursday, CBS Sports college basketball insider Jon Rothstein reported Utah and Iowa will meet in men’s basketball next season on Web site collegehoopstoday.net.

The Utes and Hawkeyes will square off December 21 at the Sanford Pentagon of Sioux Falls, S.D.

This venue has seen prestigious non-conference matchups in previous seasons. Among them are No. 1 Gonzaga defeating then-No. 3 Iowa 99-88 December 19, 2020.

Additionally, Utah State has competed at this venue several times as the Aggies defeated Northern Iowa in 2020 while losing to VCU (2020), South Dakota State (2020) and Iowa (2021).

The Minnesota Timberwolves also played a preseason game at the venue against the Milwaukee Bucks in 2013.
