SALT LAKE CITY-Saturday morning, Utah junior quarterback Bryson Barnes was a focal point of a feature story during ESPN’s college football pregame show, College Gameday, as the No. 13 Utes host No. 8 Oregon this afternoon at Rice-Eccles Stadium.

Barnes, a former Milford High School star and the 2017-2019 Mid-Utah Radio Sports Network football player of the year, had his childhood story of wanting to be a football player, told before a national audience.

As a student-athlete for the Tigers, Barnes excelled in football, basketball, baseball, wrestling and track and field from 2017-2020.

In the fall of 2020, Barnes became a preferred walk-on at the University of Utah before being awarded a scholarship ahead of fall camp this season for the Utes.

Barnes has also spent time working as a pig farmer in Milford and at various jobs in Salt Lake City before being awarded a full scholarship.
