ST. GEORGE, Utah-Thursday, Dixie State University head football coach Paul Peterson announced high school football camps conducted by the Trailblazers will run this summer.
The first camp is from Sunday June 6-Wednesday June 9
These camps are open to the high school classes of 2022-2025.
The camps are limited to 15 teams and spots will be filled on a first-come first-serve basis.
The camps will occur at Greater Zion Stadium on the campus of Dixie State University in St. George. The cost is $275 per camper.
Teams are to arrive Sunday June 6 at 4:00 pm. There will be a head coaches meeting followed by student-athletes checking into student housing on campus.
All of the practices and games will occur on Monday June 7 and Tuesday June 8. Checkout is slated for Wednesday June 9 at noon.
Peterson confirmed the purpose of the camp is to provide football instruction and allow high school teams to compete against other squads.
This will be a padded camp and there will be a certified athletic trainer on site each day of the camp.
The second team camp on campus is slated for Sunday-Wednesday June 13-16. This camp will follow the pattern of the June 6-9 camp.
The Dixie State University 7-on-7 camp is slated for Saturday June 5.
Check-in is slated for 4:00 pm on June 5 with the camp to commence at 5:00 pm.
The cost for this camp is $50 per camper and there is a maximum of 25 members per team. This will be a non-padded camp.
The individual mega camp on campus is slated for Saturday June 12.
The times for the individual positions are as follows:
Bigs (OL/DL) 9:00-11:00 am; Check-in, 8:00 am
Specialists (Kickers, punters, long-snappers) 9:00 am-11:00 am; Check-in, 8:00 am
Skill and Big Skill Camp, 7:00-9:00 pm; Check-in, 6:00 pm
The cost for this camp is $75. No pads.
