ST. GEORGE, Utah-Thursday, Dixie State University head football coach Paul Peterson named Justin Ena as the program’s new defensive coordinator.

Ena comes to the Trailblazers program with 13 years of Division I coaching experience.

He was most recently at Utah State where he served as the Aggies’ inside linebackers coach. He was Utah State’s defensive coordinator during the 2019 season.

Ena also has coaching stints at Utah (2015-2018), Weber State (2014) and Southern Utah (2008-2013).

During his coaching stops, Ena has served as a special teams coordinator, a defensive coordinator/linebackers coach and a co-special teams coordinator.

Ena was a four-year starter at BYU from 1998-2001 and a three-time all-Mountain West Conference selection at linebacker for the Cougars.

Ena played four seasons in the NFL with the Philadelphia Eagles (2002-2003; 2005) and Tennessee Titans (2004).
