Thursday, BYU, Utah and Utah State each received representatives on the Polynesian Football Player Hall of Fame watch list for the upcoming college football season.
This award is annually presented to “the most outstanding [FBS] college football player of Polynesian ancestry that epitomizes great ability and integrity.”
The representatives for BYU, Utah and Utah State are as follows.

senior linebacker Chaz Ah You
senior defensive lineman Atunaisa Mahe (1.5 tackles for a loss last season)
senior offensive lineman Paul Maile
junior tight end Isaac Rex (22 rec, 320 yards, 6 TD’s last season)
sophomore offensive lineman Kingsley Suamataia
Utah
senior linebacker Levani Damuni (sack, interception, 3.5 tackles for a loss at Stanford last season)
junior offensive lineman Falcon Kaumatule
junior offensive lineman Sataoa Laumea
sophomore defensive tackle Simote Pepa (4 sacks, 6 tackles for a loss, 2 passes defensed). Pepa is a former Bingham High School star.
junior defensive tackle Junior Tafuna (interception, sack, 3.5 tackles for a loss last season). Tafuna is a former Bingham High School star.
sophomore safety Sione Vaka (forced fumble, 3 passes defensed, 3.5 tackles for a loss last season).
sophomore receiver Devaughn Vele (55 rec, 695 yards, 5 TD’s last season)
