BYU, Utah Football, Represented On Lombardi Award Watch List

HOUSTON-Tuesday, BYU and Utah football were each represented on the Lombardi Award Watch List.

BYU was represented by sophomore tackle Kingsley Suamataia and Utah by junior defensive tackle Junior Tafuna.

Suamataia is a former Orem High School star who transferred to BYU from Oregon this past season.

Tafuna, a former Bingham High School star, posted a sack and 3.5 tackles for a loss last season for the Utes.

The Lombardi Award is annually presented to the lineman in FBS college football “who best embodies the values and spirit” of the late Vince Lombardi, the former head coach of the Green Bay Packers and Washington Redskins.
