EUGENE, Ore.-Friday, former BYU star runners Anna Camp (Millard High School) and Whittni Orton (Panguitch High School), each of whom are former Mid-Utah Radio Sports Network school multi-sport star athletes, qualified for the semifinals in the women’s 1500-meter run at the USATF Olympic Trials at Hayward Field on the campus of the University of Oregon.

Camp posted a time of 4:12.63, placing her 13th and causing her to advance to Saturday’s semifinals in the event.

Orton ran the event in a time of 4:13.74, placing her 19th overall. The top 24 times advanced to Saturday’s semis.

The top time after the quarterfinals belongs to former Colorado track star Jenny Simpson, who ran as Jenny Barringer for the Buffaloes.

Simpson posted a time of 4:11.34.
