CLEVELAND, Ohio-Friday, ten BYU football players received All-American recognition from college football expert Phil Steele.
The respective designations are as follows:
1st Team
junior tailback LJ Martin (1,305 rushing yards, 12 TD’s, 5.5 yards per carry, 1,560 scrimmage yards)
senior offensive lineman Bruce Mitchell
senior linebacker Jack Kelly (10 sacks, 13.5 tackles for a loss, 2 forced fumbles)
sophomore safety Faletau Satuala (3 interceptions, including a pick six, two forced fumbles, sack)
junior kick returner Parker Kingston (1,047 scrimmage yards, 8 total TD’s)
Second team
Kingston as a receiver (66 rec, 924 yards, 5 TD’s)
graduate student safety Tanner Wall (4 interceptions, including a pick six, forced fumble)
Third team
senior defensive tackle John Taumoepeau (1.5 tackles for a loss, half a sack)
senior long snapper Garrison Grimes
Fourth Team
junior linebacker Isaiah Glasker (three sacks, two interceptions, 8.5 tackles for a loss)
senior defensive back Evan Johnson (5 interceptions, including a pick six, eight passes defensed, two tackles for a loss, sack)
