Wildfire Prompts Evacuations In Beaver County

(Beaver County, UT) — Evacuations have been ordered as firefighters battle the Cottonwood Fire in Beaver County. The wildfire started yesterday in the Fishlake National Forest near Cottonwood Campground off State Route 153 and had grown to about 50 acres by early evening. Emergency officials ordered evacuations for the Hi-Lo and Eagle Point areas, along with the Little Cottonwood and Little Reservoir campgrounds. State Route 153 was closed in both directions as ground crews and aircraft worked to contain the fire. Residents leaving the area were directed to travel east toward Junction.
