(Millard County, UT) — Officials in Millard County say the Wide Mouth Fire has grown to more than 600 acres as of early this morning. Officials say a lightning strike sparked the fire Saturday afternoon in Fishlake National Forest near Dog Valley Mountain, south of Kanosh near I-15. The fire is reportedly being fueled by grass, sage, and pinyon juniper, and is moving uphill to the east and south. Authorities say there are no immediate threats to surrounding areas.
