(Salt Lake City, UT) — Utah doctors are excited about the recent report from Pfizer that their COVID-19 vaccine is safe and effective for kids ages five to eleven. Doctors with University of Utah Health say the current surge is in large part being driven by the return to in-person learning in schools. Pfizer is planing to seek emergency use authorization from the FDA so kids can get the shot. Health experts believe if the process moves forward, shots could start going into the arms of young kids at the end of next month or early November. Doctors with University of Utah Health hope this will allow the state to finally beat the delta surge and keep cases low.
