Two Individuals Rescued From Flash Flood in Garfield County

On June 29, authorities in Garfield County made a call to the Department of Public Safety for assistance in rescuing two individuals who were stuck due to a flash flood.

The two individuals were hiking in a slot canyon in the Escalante area when there was a flash flood. They were able to get to higher ground where a DPS helicopter crew was able to lift them to safety.

In a post to their Facebook page the Garfield County Sheriff’s Office asked everyone to please watch the weather and be safe, especially when flash floods could become a possibility.
