Three in custody after robbery and assault in Sevier County

Two men and one teen girl are in jail in Sevier County after a robbery in Elsinore on Tuesday.

Deputies and the Major Crimes Unit from the Sevier County Sheriff’s Office responded to an aggravated assault and robbery. The two suspects acted like they were just visiting, but they then used handguns to take money from the victim.

They also assaulted the victim with the handguns and then fled. The victim lost consciousness, according to the Sevier County Sheriff.

Richfield City Police tracked down a stolen car the suspects were using and found them in a home in Richfield.

22-year-old Ryan Carpenter and 21-year-old Shawn Booth were arrested along with a 17-year-old girl. Police found two firearms–one of which had been stolen–meth, and heroin.

All three are being charged with multiple charges including aggravated robbery, aggravated assault, felony possession of a firearm and possession of a stolen firearm.

Carpenter was also booked on multiple narcotics distribution charges that were unrelated to the incident.
