(Salt Lake City, UT) — A student group is speaking out against the University of Utah. The university withdrew its sponsorship of the group, called MEChA, after members allegedly disrupted an event on campus when they marched in support of Palestinians to show solidarity during the ongoing war between Israel and Hamas. The school says they support free speech, but they don’t allow groups to prevent others from “peacefully speaking their mind.” In a post on social media, the group says “SHAME on the university” for not standing against genocide and Islamophobia.
